Brimming with richly detailed hand-drawn illustrations of carved oak staircases, wall panelling, tiled fireplaces, and stained-glass windows, the Liberty sketchbooks unveil the aesthetic legacies treasured in the Regent Street flagship.
The interior fabric and wallpaper collection draws on pivotal moments that have defined Liberty as the leading tastemaker and artistic innovator of interior design. Framed by the rich textures and relaxed glamour of bohemian botanicals lies the genesis of Liberty. Discovered in the renowned 60,000-strong design archive, high Victorian maximalist-style paisleys, embellished embroideries, and ‘70s style florals are complemented by characterful geometrics and formal stripes. Inspired by the sophistication of artists, poets, and playwrights from the sensuous Aesthetic movement, The House of Liberty embodies the decades’ cultural shifts in a captivating array of harmonious juxtapositions.
Taking inspiration from an archival fabric fragment dating back to the late 1880s, Fanfare pays homage to the early years of Liberty’s printed textile tradition. This sophisticated geometric pattern features a scalloped arrangement of Asian-style fan motifs, decorated with delicately drawn stripes. The result is a timeless, versatile cotton-linen blend that celebrates the design house’s rich heritage while seamlessly complementing modern interiors.
